Great Lakes Community Conservation Corps runs the Cooperative Companion Gardening Initiative, created to increase fresh produce available to older military veterans with functional and access challenges. This project would provide free at-home raised bed gardens and consultation, installation and regular maintenance and harvesting assistance from veteran volunteers and local youth.

The Arizona Knowledge Empowerment Institute has a mission to support, educate, inform and advocate for both families and individuals with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities in having a desired quality of life. Their project entails several infrastructure needs including a storage space for tools, an area to harvest water, drip lines to water plants, raised beds and accessible beds. Grant funds would also help hire support to build a shade structure already purchased.

Borough of Fort Lee

The Borough of Fort Lee would like to create a new space for a community garden. The Borough currently has two community gardens, all of which have reached maximum capacity. This new garden will provide garden space to those residents who are seeking to use a community garden but have not been able to do so yet. Most residents do not have access to personal outdoor space or backyards, so this project will provide new access for residents to plant their own plants and vegetables.

Colorado Village Collaborative

The Colorado Village Cooperative wants to build a community garden to provide a safe place to learn, grow, eat and connect with neighbors. This project also addresses food insecurity by providing a community garden for Elyria-Swansea neighbors who may not have ready access to healthy produce or the means to grow their own. Gardening-related and healthy living classes also will be provided in the garden.

Kokua Kalihi Valley Comprehensive Family Services would like to complete its Mala O Kaluaopalena Community Garden project to create an outdoor classroom space, outhouse, and 10 raised garden beds to support hands-on garden activities, cultural programming and health education for Pacific Islander youth, families and patients.

Madison Morgan Community Garden

This project entails the total buildout of the Madison Morgan Community Garden's Fifth Street Community Garden, enabling the organization to be fully operational. Activities to complete the garden include installing an irrigation system, adding fencing and gates and building 30-40 raised beds, some of which will be ADA accessible for wheelchairs and walkers.The project would includ purchase soil, gardening tools and hoses for use by the community, developing ground cover and creating work tables and seating.

Southside Community Farm

Southside Community Farm's mission is to grow Black food sovereignty in Asheville, North Carolina's Southside neighborhood, which hosts most of Asheville's public housing. The neighborhood has no grocery store, which limits access to reliable, convenient, and healthy food. This project would create a resource for edible plants and fruit trees.
