Each year this Salvation Army location provides more than 18,250 nights of shelter and more than 54,750 meals to men and women seeking to overcome substance dependance and abuse. This project will completely remodel two bathrooms that are shared by all residents to transform the facility used by so many into a fresh space.

The Friendship Center

For 16 years the Friendship Center has provided safe shelter and supportive services to thousands of survivors, primarily women and children, fleeing domestic violence. To address wear and tear, the 13-room shelter will receive new flooring, interior painting, window coverings, and a converted garage to serve as a free store for clients.

The Enchanting Bookmobile

The Enchanting Bookmobile will address the lack of access to children's books by delivering free books to lower socioeconomic neighborhoods in the Greater Richmond area. This project will transform a mini bus into a mobile library whose mission is to spread literature to children in need.

This project will include a positive message mural, a new outdoor space, and a dedicated space for teens who need to find peace in their day.

This renovation will address 26 years of deterioration and transform the space into a safe and dignified environment. This project will allow the store’s profits to fund services to those in need, from food and tents to rent assistance and car services.

Ruth Peterson Senior Center

The Ruth Peterson Senior Center supports many local seniors who live with severe income restraints. By renovating and updating the kitchen, the center will be able to restore food service and help alleviate many residents’ struggle to find enough nutritious food to eat.

The Nations Ministry Center provides legal immigration services to refugees including citizenship application filings, housing and literacy/education assistance. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will fund the installation of a new kitchen at the center, including floors, cabinets, countertops, lighting and more.
