The Downtown Development Association, in partnership with the City of Grand Forks, North Dakota, wants to transform its town square from a deteriorating, underused, and unsafe space to the beloved community gathering location it was always intended to be. Infrastructure updates would include electrical, painting, level pavers, lighting updates, and additional safety pieces.

South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation

South Boston Neighborhood Development Corporation (NDC) is striving to create a public pocket park and community garden on an underutilized vacant lot. This area of South Boston lacks open space and trees, so transforming this lot into an asset will provide an environmental improvement for the neighborhood and gardening access to low-income residents. The project would include cedar garden planters for community gardeners and stone dust paths for ADA accessible access. NDC will enlist volunteers from the community to help with the process to give them a sense of ownership.

Shreveport Green

Shreveport Green is dedicated to promoting a healthy, sustainable, and economically vital community through public outreach, community enhancement, and a specific respect for the natural and built environment.The project includes building a gazebo on the site to host dinners, presentations and demonstrations, as well as provide a respite area for volunteers. Plans also include adding a rain barrel collection system, some benches, a ceiling fan and the wiring for both fan and lights.

United Way of Central Maryland

The United Way of Central Maryland seeks to transform its Wi-Fi hotspot locations into safe, accessible Community Technology Hubs. These hubs will be ADA compliant outdoor spaces where residents of all ages and abilities can safely gather to access high-speed Internet, engage with their neighbors and receive services. These hubs will support a range of needs, from children doing homework, parents applying for jobs or working, residents accessing telehealth services or families reconnecting with relatives via Zoom calls.
