This project would create a greenhouse initiative to support curriculum addressing community needs and implementing sustainable practices from tilling soil and planting seeds to harvesting and preparing meals. Students will experience hands-on, project based learning and will be able to take food home to help feed their families, many of whom are food insecure and living below the poverty line.

Worcester Common Ground works to promote and develop permanent and sustainable improvement in underserved neighborhoods of Central Worcester through affordable housing, community activism and economic development. This project would add a community room for WCG's low-income neighbors of all ages, where they could host a birthday party for their children or have a safe space to go outside of their home. For children, this space will serve as an after-school hangout space or a place where kids can complete their homework or meet for group projects.
