Lowe's Heroes and First Response Team of America help communities clean up

Lowe’s continues to assist in the recovery efforts for Hurricane Harvey. Here are a few examples of how Lowe’s is helping communities rebuild and employees get back on their feet:

  • Lowe’s Emergency Command Center in Wilkesboro, North Carolina, went into action before the storm made landfall. Employees worked 24/7 to get critical supplies to stores in impacted areas so recovery could begin as soon as possible.
  • As rebuilding efforts begin and continue, Lowe’s is working with the Texas Department of Transportation, FEMA and Homeland Security to map detours around flooded areas so stores are stocked with building supplies.
  • Lowe’s has already shipped more than 900 truckloads of supplies including generators, bottled water, trash bags, electrical cords, gas cans, charcoal grills and tarps.
  • Lowe’s donated $500,000 to American Red Cross Disaster Relief and is working with our national nonprofit partners to provide both immediate and long-term support to local communities. Customers can also donate to the Red Cross at any Lowe’s store in Texas.
  • Lowe’s Heroes from several stores in Texas are distributing buckets with clean-up supplies to homeowners. Products are also donated during volunteer efforts, including in the Rockport area.
  • Lowe’s Employee Relief Fund provides support to employees and their immediate family members who have suffered a significant, unforeseen financial hardship. Since 1999, 26,000 employees and their immediate family members have received over $29 million in assistance.
  • Lowe’s employees from stores in other areas serve on storm recovery teams, affording local employees time to focus on their families and personal needs.
  • Almost all 90 stores in the impacted area are open again. Click here for the list of store closings.
