This project from focuses on playground safety for multiple reasons. The existing playground is located across from a busy street and next to both fire and police department entrances to the Municipal Building. Children must cross a busy street to enter the playground, and police and fire department emergency vehicles continuously come and go from the complex for emergency calls , which adds to the dangerous conditions. In addition, the playground is not ADA compliant or accessible, and it lacks proper fall protection surfacing under the playground equipment. The project goals include relocating the playground to a much safer location and providing proper ADA access and fall protection for the children of the Town of Ball.
