The Jamison Children’s Center is a safe space for victims of violence, neglect, exploitation, physical, and sexual abuse. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will be used to install a shade structure over the basketball court and outdoor area at the center, which is often too hot to play on in the summer months. It will also allow other outside activities to be held for the children at the center, such as an ice cream social, arts and crafts, birthday parties, and more.

This outdoor play area for the kids at the West Fresno Boys & Girls Club will be built in partnership with Triple Play, a program that promotes health and wellness by teaching kids how eating smart, keeping fit and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle. Lighting, fencing and a community garden will be added to this space to make a safe place for youth to engage outside.
