With a new, larger home that provides additional space to house young mothers and their children, Our Mother’s Home will provide necessities and educational services for its residents, including community education classes, a computer lab, and a clothing store for both residents and other young families in the community.

Oasis a Safe Haven is creating social change through empowerment and support for victims of domestic violence and assault. Mothers and children will be supported with an upgraded children's area and education building, new landscaping and outdoor playground equipment.

The Metropolitan Ministries MiraclePlace Emergency Shelter supports families in need of housing. With 50 1 bedroom/1 bathroom units and no common space, the facility does not function well for families. The community room will be transformed from a storage room to a multi-purpose space where staff can facilitate self-sufficiency trainings, adults can use computers to develop resumes, apply for jobs, and complete GED or certificate course requirements, teens and children can complete homework assignments and families can spend time together.

Humility Homes and Services, Inc. is committed to ending homelessness by offering housing opportunities and supportive services in the greater quad cities area. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the organization will add a two-bedroom affordable housing unit, which can properly house a family in need. In addition, laundry facilities will be added for all tenants living at the property.

House of Ruth

The House of Ruth supports the need of formerly homeless women. By improving the exterior of the building that houses program participants and by beautifying the yard, residents will feel at home in a building with more welcoming aesthetics, which in turn will have a positive impact on the surrounding neighborhood.

Founded in 1948, Easterseals Florida offers a variety of services to help people with disabilities address life's challenges and achieve personal goals. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will provide much-needed updates to one of the cabins at their special-needs camping facility, including new interior walls, doors, floors, paint, water heater, washer/dryer and bathroom renovations. Six bathrooms in a 3-cabin unit will also be fully renovated with new toilets, painted, and new vanities.

Domestic Violence Project

The Domestic Violence Project seeks to transform the Founding Mother's room in Canton, a place where survivors can "shop" for gently used donations that are donated by the community, and then available in a store-like atmosphere where survivors feel empowered to start making their own decisions. In addition, an office in Canton will be converted into a space where community programs can be conducted in a safe, comfortable environment, including new flooring, paint, and updated furniture.

The Children’s Haven of Southwest Missouri provides temporary shelter to area children in a safe, secure environment while their parents resolve a family crisis. After ten years of serving more than 100,000 healthy meals and snacks over the years, it’s time for a kitchen refresh. The Lowe’s Hometowns grant will provide a brand-new kitchen as well as resolve plumbing issues and repair a damaged subfloor.

BeLoved Asheville

BeLoved Asheville is building a village of 12 microhomes to sow the seeds of community, while bringing home community members who’ve struggled with housing insecurity. Six homes are already underway and the Lowe’s Hometowns grant will be used to build the final six homes on the property. This nonprofit has developed a replication toolkit so that other communities who are struggling in the housing crisis can learn and adopt this model.

The Barrett House provides shelter and supportive services to women and children experiencing homelessness. The outdoor area that provides a peaceful sanctuary and is vital to healing from the trauma of homelessness will get more privacy with fencing and a repair of their meditation fountain. Old, outdated windows and a washer and dryer will all be replaced.
