The Trout Ponds Park is the recreational heart of the Newark Valley community and is currently suffering from structural and safety issues. This project includes new pavilions, a gazebo and walking bridge, grills, public restrooms and environmentally friendly drinking fountains. A new marquee and gates at the park entrance will welcome the community.

New Paltz Youth Program

The New Paltz Youth Program offers year-round educational, recreational and social opportunities for New Paltz Middle School and High School students. Their 100-year-old building will receive new flooring, a new roof, a shed and gazebo with the Lowe’s Hometowns grant.

Glow Up Girl

Glow Up Girls Inc. provides both in-school and after-school programming for girls focused on the physical, emotional, and mental health skills needed to become strong, confident leaders in their communities. With the Lowe’s Hometowns grant, the “glow up” to this space would include replacing windows, doors, flooring, baseboards, remodeling the bathroom and a refreshed exterior.

American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society is home away from home to many patients. Connecting the building’s residing guests closely with NYC’s “naturalistic” surroundings is key to healing and well-being. The terrace project includes new planters, soil, proper drainage, plantings, and a newly installed Living Wall utilizing the existing POD system along with three seating zones for patients to utilize and feel more at home.
