The Fairfield Police Activities League wants to complete the relocation of a community center. The PAL Teen Center will be moving to the organization's new location thanks to support from the City of Fairfield, who will be covering the mortgage.
The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas want to update and upgrade their current outdoor space into a safe place for girls to participate in Girl Scout programming, be together and have fun. Investments would include new fencing and outdoor equipment (e.g., grills, picnic tables), updating the stage, painting the exterior and creating a garden that will provide girls with hands-on experience.
McKenzie's Hope is a Child Advocacy, Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Center. This project would expand into the building next door to double its capacity and allow the center to better support the children, adults and families it serves. The expansion would create a room large enough to fit the number of team members who need to be present during interviews, and it would add onsite storage.
Kid City is looking to create a community space would nearly double Kid City’s usable program space for 8-10 months of the year. High school students will have safe, shady outdoor areas where they can gather to connect to peers and mentors. A beautiful, cool, outdoor space will support mentor-scholar meetings, staff-student consultations, parent or student events, friendly hang-outs, study groups, small fundraisers and other community events.
Junior League of the Shoals seeks to create an outdoor learning center in this space. The project requires landscape and item removal before new landscaping and ground cover can be installed. The project plan includes planting Emerald Arborivate, or a hedge type plant, around the perimeter of the area to provide a sound barrier from the traffic and installing astro turf surfacing. The completed center would include playground equipment, as well.
The Harry R. Bartlett American Legion Post 89 has renovation plans that include removing and replacing windows, replacing a 50-plus year old gas stove and exhaust hood and modernizing the kitchen so it can continue hosting community events.

They hope to renovate a recently purchased building to be a central community center that will anchor programs, services, and resources in the community.
The Mission of the Midian Leadership Project works to develop community leaders through holistic educational and social support, anchored in sports-related programming, for young people ages 10 to 25. Their project requires significant work on an empty warehouse purchased as a home for Midian last year. The plan includes infrastructure upgrades, renovation and creation of a multipurpose space, conference room, classroom and workout room.
