Cleanup continues in Nashville and Middle Tennessee after a deadly tornado tore through the state last week. Lowe’s quickly began planning its disaster response to help associates, customers and communities impacted by the storm.

Lowe’s has already provided hands-on volunteer support for neighborhoods in Northeast Nashville, Donelson and Mt. Juliet. So far, the company has donated more than $125,000 in emergency supplies to communities in need. Below are just a few of the ways Lowe’s and its associates are reaching out to help:

  • Six local stores distributed 3,000 buckets of cleanup supplies to residents and served 3,000 hot meals alongside nonprofit partner Operation BBQ Relief.
  • A dozen Lowe’s volunteers joined Tennessee Titans’ staff on a neighborhood-canvassing event to distribute items like totes, gloves, rakes, shovels, trash bags and flashlights.
  • Nearly 40 Lowe’s volunteers partnered with nonprofit Reach Out WorldWide to help clear debris and distributed 500 pairs of work gloves, boxes of trash bags, shovels and totes.

Last summer, Lowe’s associates packed 20,000 buckets full of disaster relief supplies that were staged and ready to be shipped in event of a natural disaster.
