Cowboys wide receiver Michael Gallup brought his big smile to the Lowe's Home Team to help make a big impact in the community.

Gallup assisted with renovations at the Fort Worth Association Of Federated Women’s Club -- an organization of African American women that seeks to bring women together to serve the underserved, strengthen the community and provide avenues for volunteerism, civic activism, education, and cultural enlightenment. The Home Team project was done in collaboration with Lowe's 100 Hometowns initiative.

The improvements will provide a safe and welcoming community space for the club’s youth and seniors, and for local organizations to rent, which will create a revenue stream for future building maintenance.

The club is in the heart of Historic Southside and the goal is to make this area a tourist destination. The only current places with meeting space in the area are either City-owned community centers and the library, all of which are institutional with very limited hours and heavy use restrictions.

This project is the eleventh collaboration between the 2021 Lowe’s Home Team and Lowe’s 100 Hometowns. 100 Hometowns is Lowe’s initiative to celebrate its centennial year and after serving communities for 100 years, 100 projects will be completed across 36 U.S. states that rebuild areas reeling from natural disasters, repair critical housing, restore beloved community centers, revive green spaces, and much more.
