Donations include emergency supplies to fire stations in Alabama and Georgia

In the wake of the nation’s deadliest tornado outbreak in nearly six years, families across Alabama and Georgia are desperately searching for loved ones, shelter and food. While the devastation remains, Lowe’s has turned its focus to helping the region get back on its feet.

9B78CED8-0B90So far, Lowe’s stores have donated emergency supplies to fire stations in Lee County, Alabama and Harris County, Georgia. These donations are aimed at helping those in need and include generators, tarps, shop vacs, totes and trash bags.

“We have a big responsibility in these communities and it’s been a huge response from everyone,” said James Day, a Lowe’s store manager in Columbus, Georgia. “Having Lowe’s presence was a must and a small thank you for what these fire stations have done in each community.”

EFC78B83Additionally, Lowe’s is a proud member of the Red Cross Annual Disaster Giving Program. Through ongoing donations, Lowe’s helps enable the Red Cross to prepare communities for disasters big and small, respond whenever and wherever disasters occur and help families during the recovery process. The Red Cross is providing food, support services, relief supplies and helping people in the region recover.

In 2018, Lowe’s committed $4 million to disaster relief and rebuilding efforts. For more information on last year’s relief efforts, click here.
