Featuring Roger Goodell, NFL Legends and 300 total volunteers

As the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears led the NFL into its 100th season, Lowe’s was proud to support the beautification of Douglas Park, one of Chicago’s most historic landmarks. This week’s event was part of the NFL’s Huddle for 100 Campaign and featured around 300 volunteers including more than 30 Lowe’s Heroes, NFL Legends and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“One of the best aspects of working with the NFL is the ability to connect with fans nationwide, but also have local activations, like this one with the Bears,” said a Lowe’s Store Manager in Chicago. “We are happy to be providing all products and tools necessary to refurbish this beautiful park, which serves as a cultural and community center on the West Side of Chicago.”

Lowe’s Heroes and volunteer efforts

Lowe’s Heroes and volunteer efforts included the refurbishment of natural areas, painting playground areas, mulching trees and help maintaining Douglas Park’s overall appearance and upkeep. Donated supplies and products included wheelbarrows, gardening tools, mulch and more.

The NFL Huddle for 100 campaign is the NFL’s season-long initiative to get 1 million people to donate 100 minutes of their time with the goal being 100 million minutes volunteer by Super Bowl LIV. Lowe’s is the official Home Improvement Retail sponsor of the NFL and now sells more than 10,000 licensed NFL-branded merchandise items online and in select stores.
