Lowe's continues to assist with Hurricane Harvey recovery and cleanup efforts

It’s been a little more than a week since Hurricane Harvey made landfall, leaving damage and devastation in its wake. Since the beginning, Lowe’s has been there to help and recovery efforts are well underway. Here are the latest updates of how Lowe’s is continuing to support those people and places affected by the storm.

Storm recovery teams

1,000 specially trained employees from around the country are in route to impacted Lowe’s stores in Texas. As members of storm relief teams, these employees will support their affected colleagues by covering shifts at the stores, unloading truckloads of emergency supplies, stocking shelves and serving customers. This gives employees impacted by the hurricane a chance to rest, focus on their families and take the steps necessary to recover. There were 90 impacted Lowe’s stores – almost all have reopened. Here are just a few of the many teams heading to support stores in the Houston area.

Kobalt Tools donation
Kobalt tools and its vendors are stepping up in a big way to help after the hurricane devastation by committing to donate $215,000 of tools. The First Response Team will collect and take the tools to Texas, where they’ll be used by Lowe’s Heroes volunteers to clean up and rebuild in impacted areas.

There’s still a lot of work to be done, but Lowe’s has and will continue to be there for its employees, their families and communities in times of need.
