To aid residents recovering from local fires, Lowe’s hosted a drive-through bucket brigade event in Phoenix, Oregon this past Friday.

The 500 buckets of supplies included essentials like gloves, goggles, water and masks. Lowe’s associates from the Medford store prepared the disaster relief buckets and the event took place at the nearby Phoenix Plaza Civic Center.

"The event was great," said Medford store manager Rebekah Tarkon. "It was inspiring community interaction. Our associates are passionate about helping out whenever possible, especially when 3,500 homes are lost along with 100 businesses. Daily, they are bringing me opportunities to give back."

Lowe’s associates have been actively providing supplies and support in communities across the Pacific Northwest that have been hit hard by fires since early this summer. In response to the fires, Lowe’s has shipped more than 2,700 trucks with emergency supplies, including air purifiers, air filters, garden hoses, flashlights, smoke alarms and respiratory protection such as safety masks.

In early September, Lowe’s donated $1 million to support relief efforts for the fires, Hurricane Laura and other disasters.
