The Lowe's Foundation is committed to impacting the company's hometown of Charlotte, North Carolina, and is excited to share some of the exciting projects that have recently come to life.
Habitat for Humanity (HFH) partners with people in this community, and all over the world, to help them build or improve a place they can call home, and the Lowe's Foundation awarded a $1,425,668 grant to HFH of the Charlotte Region to support critical home repair, new home construction and the expansion of an apprenticeship program.

Veterans Bridge Home (VBH) is a Charlotte-based nonprofit that bridges the gap between veterans and their community. It creates a comprehensive one-stop shop by connecting with Veterans in the area, identifying veteran-friendly employers with openings and helping veterans navigate the available resources in the community.
Lowe’s teamed up with the Carolina Panthers and awarded $90,000 to support VBH’s move into their new Veterans Transition Center, while also donating $25,000 in gift cards to further support. The 10,000 square foot, state-of-the-art co-working space and community center for veterans, military service members and their families is the first of its kind in the Carolinas and will be dedicated to facilitating the employment and advancement of veterans across the region.

Rebuilding Together of Greater Charlotte, She Built This City, and Digi-Bridge formed a partnership for a shared nonprofit facility and maker space in Charlotte. Support from Lowe’s, which awarded a $216,000 total grant over three years, helped provide an opportunity for these nonprofits to find additional sources to cover the full cost of 3,000 sq. ft. of warehouse, workshop and classroom space.
Through this support, Lowe’s has been a catalytic partner to jump-start this collaboration, allowing these nonprofits the time to secure additional funding to sustain the facility going forward. View a tour of the facility in the video below.
RAIN and The Havens’ initiative provides safe, affordable housing for individuals in Charlotte living with HIV or other disabilities, and Lowe’s recently donated $250,000 to support that effort. The money will go towards renovating 25 accommodation units and some common spaces.
