Teen Lives Matter 2021
A youth center in a town that has lost 30 children to gun violence and other trauma wishes to renovate its space so it can support teens and families with limited resources who are struggling to find extracurricular activities to keep them safe and off the streets.
Why It Matters
With a goal to bring positivity back to the community, the renovations at Trinity Galewood Youth Center will ensure the space is inviting and helping teens create a better lifestyle for their future. It will demonstrate to the at-risk teens that people care and that there is more to the world than gangs, drugs, and gun violence.
The Impact
“I have been so invested in this community for 20 years now and I want to give more and I want to make a difference,” wrote project nominator and Trinity Galewood director of youth programs Ebony Davis. “If I can save a life, that would mean the world to me.”
