Clyde's Kitchen renovation
Crossroads Community Ministries seeks assistance in renovating its on-site dining space where meals are served to the homeless five days a week.
Why It Matters
The new space will accommodate 200 men, women and children each day with a warm meal, safety and respite from the trauma of life on the street. Considering more than 60% of those who come to Clyde’s Kitchen for food are chronically homeless, it is often their first point of entry with Crossroads. The dining room is where case managers connect with guests to assess basic needs and offer other stabilization services.
The Impact
“Our community is one in which people band together to help our neighbors,” said project nominator Tony Johns. “We are proud to call this city home and even more proud to be a part of the rich history, generous neighbors and diverse community that makes Atlanta so great. With hundreds of children and adults impacted by homelessness and poverty, Crossroads remains committed to partnering with our beloved city of Atlanta to make homelessness rare, brief and nonrecurring, while breaking the chains of generational poverty that plague our community.”
